December Tournament Format – 4-Man Shamble (SHOTGUN START)

• SHOTGUN START AT 7:30AM

• INCLUDES 2 FREE DRINK TICKETS

• PLAYERS WILL PICK THEIR OWN TEAM

• IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A TEAM, WE WILL PLACE YOU IN ONE

• This is a 4-man team game

• The team uses the two best balls on each hole (Gross & Net) to get a total score for each hole

• All four players hit a tee shot on each hole

• The team selects the best tee shot, and all players play their OWN ball from that tee shot until holing out.  This is NOT a scramble.  Play your own ball where it lies.

• Each player must place their ball within one club length of the selected tee shot, staying in the same playing condition:

• Fairway stays in fairway

• Rough stays in rough

• Bunker stays in bunker

• Penalty area stays in penalty area

• Each player plays their own ball into the hole from the group's selected tee shot and records their individual GROSS score on the scorecard and in Golf Genius

Scoring

• Players must record their individual GROSS score on the scorecard and in Golf Genius

• The TEAM records the combined two best gross and two best net scores per hole.  GOLF GENIUS WILL KEEP TRACK OF THIS

Drive Requirement

• Each player must contribute at least three (3) tee shots during the round.

Handicaps

• Players will be playing to 80% of their overall handicap per USGA recommendation for this tournament format in the NET scoring

Extra Games:  Skins & Polies

• Gross & Net skins are available in this tournament and are team skins. 

• Net Skins are capped at 18 strokes per player (1 stroke per hole)

• Polies on par – 3’s if your tee shot lands within the length of the flagstick to the hole – you win a polie

PACE OF PLAY

• Play ready golf

• Pick up if your score is going to be greater than the lowest two gross and net scores on the hole

• If there is a wait on the Par 3, once your group is on the green, waive up the group behind you

• On hole 1, waive up the group on the tee once you are all on the green.  If you are on the tee on Hole 1 and not going for the green, hit your tee shots before the player trying to drive the green hits.  That person(s) should hit last after being waived up

• If your group falls behind

• After you are done holing out go hit your tee shot while the rest of the group putts out

• Get back in position

Format: 2-Man Team Net Best Ball Qualifier – The Heritage Cup

This is a one day 2-man team Net-Best Ball Stroke Play event.

This is a qualifier for team match play and to crown a 2-man team match play champion!

The number of qualifying teams will be based on total entries.

Low 16-32 teams qualify for the Team Match Play portion of the event.  (Think March Madness/Mayor’s Cup)

• 4-Bracket Format; Brackets divided up based on handicaps & teams within bracket of similar handicaps will play against each other

• Seeding within bracket determined by team best ball net score during Net Qualifier

• Bracket format (Flights A, B, C, D) based on lowest 16-32 team’s net best ball scores divided into flights.  Flights will be determined AFTER the qualifier

• Semi Finals/Final Four: Winners of Each Flight Face Off

• Finals: Winners of each semi final

• Flight Champion awarded for each flight

• Overall Champion awarded

• Match Play rounds to be completed over following weeks (info to follow)

• Trophy awarded

*** There is no time designation for how long match play will take. We encourage everyone that makes it to match play to try and play their rounds as soon as possible, so that we do not wait on any one match for the rest of the bracket to unfold. 

Every winner of their flight will get a purse, and match play rounds will be comped for teams making it to the top 8.

If you end up tying at the end of match play, you will need to continue playing in sudden death. The next hole wins the match.***

Teams may consist of a Member and a Guest or a Member and a Member. Guests do not have to have an established Handicap. This will be a non-posting round.

• Handicap Rule: There is a 10-stroke maximum difference allowed between team members. If a teammate exceeds this, their handicap will be adjusted to fall within 10 strokes of the lower-handicap player.

• Extras: We'll also be running Gross & Net Skins and Polies for added action.

Playing with a guest is preferred.  However, you can also enter with a fellow Skylinks member.

Welcome to the 2nd Major of the season!

This is a two man tournament.

Tournament Format:

First six holes:

Shamble Format:  Both players hit drives and select the best drive to play from.  Each player plays his own ball in from there.  Record the lowest score on the hole.

Second six holes:

Best Ball Format.  Take the lowest score of each of your scores on each hole.

Final six holes:

Modified Alternate shot. Both players hit tee shots.  After selecting the best tee shot, you play the rest of the hole alternate shot until the ball is holed

4-Man Shamble Tournament

Tournament Format:

• Each player hits a tee shot on every hole.

• The team selects the best tee shot and each player plays their own ball from that spot through the hole.

• Each team must use at least three tee shots from each player during the round.

Scoring:

• Each team’s score will consist of:

  • The two best gross scores per hole.

  • The two best net scores per hole.

• Both gross and net scores will be recorded for the team on each hole.

Team Skins Competition:

• Skins will be determined by the team’s two best total scores (gross and net) per hole.

• To be eligible for skins, ALL four team members must be entered into the skins game/side pots.

Team Assignments:

• If you do not have a team, we will assign you to one.

• If you do not wish to participate in side pots/skins, not a problem, you will be paired with other players who are also opting out.

Format: Modified Stableford Scoring

Scoring:

Net Double Eagle: 8 points
Net Eagle: 5 points
Net Birdie: 3 points
Net Par: 1 point
Net Bogey: 0 points
Net Double Bogey or worse: -2 points
(Pick up after a net double bogey score has been reached for pace of play)
 
Tee Setup: Red, White, Blue, & Black Tees

Players will choose their own tees to hit from during the round, utilizing all the different tee boxes.
You will hit the following number of tee shots from each tee throughout the round, totaling the required shots listed here: 4 RED, 5 WHITE, 5 BLUE, 4 BLACK.  (18 Total)
Each player decides individually (not the foursome) which tees to play on each hole, ensuring they total the required number of tee shots per individual as listed above.
